Polička is situated in the region of Pardubice, Svitavy district. The Municipal Museum and Gallery lies in the historic centre, just a stone’s throw away from Palackého náměstí (Palacký’s Square). It looks after and provides entry to the Museum, the Gallery (situated in the Baroque Town Hall), the Birth Apartment of Bohuslav Martinů and the Medieval Fortification. If you would like to visit any of these landmarks, the tickets for the guided tours can be obtained at the Museum.


By car

The museum is situated in the residential zone, therefore the parking in front of it or nearby is not permitted.

By train

Polička is easily reached by a local train from Svitavy, which is served by the fast trains from Prague, Brno and Česká Třebová.

The museum is approximately 7 minutes’ walk from the train station.

 

By bus

Direct bus services to Polička can be boarded from Litomyšl, Svitavy, Olešnice, Skuteč, Nové Město na Moravě or Hradec Králové.

The museum is approximately 7 minutes’ walk from the bus station; however, the nearest bus stop is “Polička, theatre (Polička, u divadla)”, which is served by services from Skuteč, Hlinsko, Telecí, Svratka and some services from Litomyšl.

 

By bike

Polička is accessible by many a cycle-path or cycle route. You may be approaching on paths/routes from Široký Důl, Modřec, Pomezí, Kamenec or Bořiny. From whichever direction you are coming, the bike stands and charging station can be found 2 minutes’ walk from the museum on Palackého náměstí (Palacký’s square).  

During your museum visit (or any landmark the museum provides the entry to), your bikes can also be stored in the museum’s garden.
