This multi-purpose building serves as a theatre, a cinema and venue for a wide range of events, including theatre performances, concerts and festivals, as well as various social and educational events. Since 1997, the annual “Martinů Fest” has been held here every May.

The school offers music, dance, art and drama education and is deeply interconnected with the town’s cultural life. For musicians aged 5-20, the school organises the nationwide competition “Mládí a Bohuslav Martinů” (Bohuslav Martinů and Youth), which supports young talent and promotes knowledge of Martinů’s work. Every year, the concert “Bohuslav Martinů a MY” (Bohuslav Martinů and US) is held to commemorate the composer’s birthday.

Bohuslav Martinů Male Voice Choir

The choir was established in 2018 thanks to the enthusiasm of local patriots. It performs works by Czech and international composers, including Bohuslav Martinů, as well as arrangements of folk songs and spirituals. The musical director, Oldřich Růžička, has 40 years of experience with solo and choral singing.
